Willingboro, December 1974.  The freshman Quakers were greeted inside Memorial Gym to the raucous sounds of Brick performing Dazz
I had never seen or heard anything like it.  It seemed like the undersized stands would collapse as their fans swayed back and forth in unison to the music.  The young Gryphons stylishly performed layups while we nervously assembled at the other end of the tiny court to try and do the same.
I was so intimidated that, for the only time in my brief career on the hardwood, I contributed an airball layup as Flynn grimaced, Eldridge cackled, and Webster scowled.  Additionally, Milner air-balled one from the charity stripe.  Army did his best to encourage us, but Drayton, Kelly, Tunstall, and Houston powered Memorial to an overwhelming 82-28 thrashing.
We thankfully boarded the bus back to Moorestown once the horn sounded, ending our misery.  Haynes finally broke the long silence on the trip home by offering "Man, that sucked!"
On to Lenape.
